Review
Festival of the Arts season is here again. And, the food studios booth I was most looking forward to visiting was the Pop Eats! booth. Last year, it had my favorite dishes of the festival (the venison and the ceviche). So, I was definitely excited to see this booth come back. This year the booth had 2 dishes marked Gluten Friendly.Because this booth is NOT 100% gluten free, there is always an increased risk of cross-contamination. Use your own judgement when consuming items that are not in dedicated gluten free booths. Please note that there are no 100% gluten free booths at this year’s Festival of the Arts.We got both of the gluten friendly dishes, along with the Cloudem Sparkling Wine. We absolutely loved this wine last year, which actually sparkles and glows a bit -- making it feel extra special during festival season. This year, we were surprised to see that it was a green almost turquoise color instead of the gold color as last year.Still, the flavors of this sparkling wine are incredible. And, it's a must order when we go. We actually even found the Cloudem wine in the gold color for purchase near the booth and brought some home with us. That's how much we enjoyed it!The first dish we tried was the Sous Vide Poulet Rouge Chicken Roulade with Apples and Sage served with Warm Brie Fondue, Blueberry and Beet Gel and garnished with Apple and Beet Chips. This is marked Gluten Friendly on the guide and does contain dairy. Hands down, this is one of the best festival dishes we've ever had. We thought the flavors were bright, adding in savory with sweet. The combination of chicken with sage, apple, and the warm brie fondue were lovely, especially when eaten with the sweet blueberry and beet gel. While we miss the venison featured at this booth last year, Brandon and I both agreed this was a worthy replacement -- one we'd definitely get again.A repeat from last year, we had to get the Shrimp Ceviche with Lime Mint Foam which is both gluten free and dairy free. You can't go wrong with a bright citrus filled ceviche. And, we were impressed with the amount of shrimp in this dish. While the chicken dish was the star of this booth, we still really enjoyed the ceviche.
Overall
We were both super impressed by the Pop Eats! booth again this year. We thought it had some of the best dishes of the festival and one of our favorite wines too. As the booth with the most gluten friendly options, we will definitely be visiting it again too. What do you think of the menu items at the Pop Eats! booth? What would you order if you visited it?
