Yum...love Boma...Egg white omelet w/ham, grilled asparagus, and seasoned breakfast potatoes!

 

Argggh, I hate it when technology doesn't work (or works with unintended consequences). I just did this whole post and poof...adding a new picture completely removed my content. Yikes. Is it the weekend already?!

 

Anyway, I digress...

 

As most of you know, I love, love, love Boma. Not only do I love the ambiance at AKL, but I also love the food at the restaurants at this resort. Boma is a step above the rest. Always consistent and fantastic with food allergies. I've even been able to get custom dishes for gf/df (including the amazing gf/df bobotie--note you have to give them some notice for this one--it takes 24 hours to make). Yep, it's one of my favs.

 

I hadn't been to Boma since the new special diets changes had been made, and I was curious, especially since they carry a lot of the Kinnikick products there. And I lovveeeee their chocolate chip muffins (it's a bit of an obsession). They also usually have the donuts on hand, which is very nice.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the chef who was very friendly and helpful. I was pleased to see that the menu/buffet really hadn't change much. I knew more or less of the things I could or could not eat. Being mindful of my gallbladder, I went with an egg white omelet (they used a clean pan and no dairy). Very good. The chef also made me some of the wonderful Mickey waffles (though they aren't as good as Kona or Kouzzina's). He said he would bring me some muffins and donuts, but alas, they were out of the muffins. NOOOOOOO! Well, at least the other food makes up for the lack of my fav. muffins.

 

Overall, I still love Boma. Things are so consistent here, that I always know I'll get a great meal. A 9 out of 10 (only b/c of the lack of all the products). Run don't walk to this restaurant (or at least make an ADR). I'll be back there in another week, so stay posted for additional reviews!
